Machine-grade stretch wrap is installed on a stretch wrap machine. It comes on larger, heavier rolls than the hand-grade wrap. Stretch wrap machines are used in medium- to high-volume packing and shipping applications. Stretch wrap is a continuous length of plastic that is wrapped around the sides of a pallet or bundle to protect the package from dust and moisture, prevent and indicate tampering, and keep items together. High clarity allows you to identify your products easily while smooth release allows you to wrap with ease. Excellent value without compromising quality.
A highly stretchable plastic film, stretch wrap commonly is made from linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) that is wrapped around items. The elastic recovery keeps the items tightly bound. The cast extrusion process is a continuous process by which a thermoplastic material is melted and extruded through a flat die onto a chill roll, where it is quenched and re-solidified. This process allows the cast stretch film to have excellent clarity, require less force to stretch, increased tear resistance, unwind quietly from machines, and offer a superior cling. Both machine-grade and hand-grade cast stretch films are available. There are a variety of widths, thicknesses, and types of stretch film.
